Ferrari Helmet is Damn Sexy (and Not U.S. Legal)

 |  |  |  |  May 20, 2011

I am a big fan of Ferrari cars. I know that the closest I will ever get to one is when the rich doctors in my area show up at a car show in theirs. If you are like me and really like Ferrari cars, and want to own something Ferrari yourself this helmet is surprisingly affordable.

The Ferrari helmet is designed for motorcyclists and it comes in black or silver colors. The silver is pictured here with beige leather and it looks really cool. The front section with the shield is a little dorky though. Still, the helmet is $356.31 and it’s honestly not clear if that is USD or in other currency. The helmet is noted to not be homologated for the U.S., Canada, or Mexico.

I would assume that to mean it doesn’t meet U.S. safety specs. That is odd considering Ferrari is a brand that puts thought into safety and the one of its largest markets. The outside is some sort of thermoplastic polymer and the inside is a DuPont fabric that is antistatic and anti-allergic. The helmet meets ECE 22.05 standards.
