Thanks to the Internet, the “office” is no longer a strictly physical location. I’m working from home right now, wearing clothes that even a bum would find distasteful. Despite this awesome setup, we can still do better.
You know, when my toaster doesn’t get my piece of toast just right, I get really pissed off! OK, I don’t actually get that mad, but burnt toast is definitely an annoyance. Toaster tech hasn’t evolved much in the last century, but this smart toaster concept aims to take things into the 22nd century and beyond, at least for toast-making.
If you’re a European owner of the new Nintendo Wii U game console, you may have noticed some odd limitations in the eShop for downloading digital content. If you happen to try and purchase any game content that’s rated for 18 years and over during daytime hours, you may have noted a message telling you that you can’t view this content.
You know, it’s funny that with all of the R2-D2 merch I’ve seen over the years, I’ve never envisioned the little maintenance droid in wood. But now that I’ve seen him made out of the stuff, I rather like the way he looks.
I know hordes of Internet geeks out there like me were hoping that Google would roll out its insanely fast gigabit Google Fiber Internet service all around the country. I’ve been wishing that Google had plans to make the service widely available after it saw how successful it was within Kansas City.
Here’s a cool piece of jewelry for the graphic designer or creative person in your life. Each one of these nifty pendants features an individual Pantone color chip – an homage to print design that also makes a cool color accent piece.
While I don’t game that much on my iPhone, I have discovered that while touch-based controls might seem intuitive, but they are just awful for space shooters and other kinds of fast-paced action games. That’s one of the reasons why the WynCASE will probably work well.
An officially-licensed replica of the handy torch from Minecraft. Unlike the one in the game, not only can you place this anywhere you like, you can also – drum roll please – take it with you, even when it’s lit.
I’m frequently impressed with the projects coming out of DARPA, but most of the stories I’ve come across have been about their advances in robotics and defense systems. This new technology is designed specifically to save lives of wounded soldiers and civilians, and it does it with a simple spray foam.
We’ve seen a few cute and cuddly weapons in the past, but this handgun is a real rarity. This a semi-automatic handgun from Springfield Armory that features custom Rarity grips. Ha ha. At least we think they are custom grips.
If you’re both a horticulturist and an audiophile, then have I got the perfect thing for you. Ok, it’s probably more for the gardener than the audio fanatic since it doesn’t actually function as a speaker, but this thing is still kind of a neat idea.
While it looks just like a bookshelf speaker, what you’re looking at is a 3D-printed planter.
Now I’m not sure what the intersection is between Doctor Who and Winnie the Pooh fans is out there, but I think it’s actually a pretty big group. I certainly appreciate both of them. What makes this mashup between Who and Pooh even better of course is that it’s totally edible.
While I’m personally holding out for the Archos GamePad, if you absolutely must have an Android 4 gaming device before the holidays, you might want to check 0ut this oddity. The Chinese made JXD 5110 bears more than a passing resemblance to the Sony PSP, but it’s all Android, all the time.
Online dating sites are a dime a dozen nowadays. In order to get noticed, a site really has to up their game and offer something that others don’t. For example, Trekkie Dating is a site that specializes in pairing Star Trek fans with other fans.
