I got off to a slow start with Breaking Bad and didn’t like the show when it was still on the air. I got really bored a few months ago and binge-watched the entire series over a month, and I really liked it this time around.

I remember watching Alien for the first time when I was growing up. That movie scared the crap out of me, but I loved it. The entire Alien franchise remain some of my favorite sci-fi movies.

I’m glad to say that my kids were too young when the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers were popular to want to watch the show. I have seen only a few episodes, and it must be the cheesiest show ever made.

Many of the female bad guys in the comic book world aren’t purely bad. These characters always seem to me to be right on the verge between full bad and somewhat good. A new series of Vinyl Vixens statues have turned up to celebrate three of these morally ambiguous characters from the DC universe.

A couple of years ago custom action figure maker Dan Polydoris made a handful of action figures based on characters from Activision’s Atari 2600 games. Now he’s back with four more characters from the console’s hit list.

If you are into the works of H.P. Lovecraft, or simply like Cthulhu and/or geeky action figures, you need to check these out. ThinkGeek has a complete set of Legends of Cthulhu action figures that you can add to your collection for $19.99 each.

One of the most iconic movies of the ’80s was The Karate Kid. Young me learned a lot from that movie. Beating the crap out of bullies was okay at a karate tournament for instance. Most importantly, I learned that waxing a car is as good as training in a dojo and there is no defense against the mighty crane kick.

If you are a fan of Firefly, you might recall a while back we mentioned that Funko was working on a line of its Pop! action figures featuring the crew of the Serenity. It’s been a couple of years now since we talked about those action figures and you can now buy them on ThinkGeek for $9.99 each.

One of my favorite scenes from Pacific Rim is when Gipsy Danger gets into the fight with the Kaiju in the middle of the city and ends up handing out a beat down with a cargo ship picked up out of the harbor.

Earlier this year we featured Takara Tomy’s killer crossover combo action figures of Optimus Prime as a Sony PlayStation and Megatron as a Sega Mega Drive. It turns out the toy maker also released a US variant of the latter – Genesis Megatron.

Pulp Fiction was one of those movies that was awesome to watch, despite being a bit weird at times. There were tons of classic movie lines in that film spouted from Jules and Vincent as they went around killing people and talking about random stuff.

When the Skylanders game launched and became crazy popular with kids, it made big money not only on software but also on action figure sales. Each of those action figures was designed so that gamers could place them on the portal and import them into their game to play.

Back when I was a kid, the prizes in cereal boxes used to be pretty great, but then some stupid kids had to go swallow their toys and ruin it for everyone. The lawyers intervened, and such began the demise of cereal box toys, and the rise of idiotic crap like online redemption codes.

Most action figures are small – maybe 4 to 7 inches tall, but on occasion, you can get your mitts on a very large action figure like this Batman toy from the Arkham: Origins video game.

Watch out Nendoroid Link, an equally cute hero is sneaking up on your territory. Launching this November, the Good Smile Company’s Solid Snake Nendoroid features the super spy as he appears in the PlayStation hit Metal Gear Solid.

Japanese toy maker Happinet has a series called Tsumikore, which consists of figurines that are on all fours. Aside from looking silly – or naughty – the figurines are posed that way to facilitate stacking. The company has released Tsumikore based on a baseball team, Gundam and Ghost in the Shell.
