Cyberpunk taxidermist and YouTuber Yi Zhizhu decided to mod a deceased Hercules beetle (Dynastes Hercules) into a realistic mechanical model using a bunch of small watch parts and springs and lights, and other pieces. If you scroll down, there’s a video documenting that process, the entirety of which I thought was pretty fascinating to watch.

Developed and built by Etsy shop BionicConcepts, this biomechanical metal spine armor features everything you’d look for in new spine armor, like cool looks and light-up effects. The cyberpunk-style spine is constructed from aluminum and will be worn daily by yours truly.

Etsy shop Illumi-Nation makes plexiglass visors with futuristic laser-etched patterns that pop up when the built-in LEDs are powered up. Most of the visors have elaborate patterns, like the Iron Man-inspired one you see below, but the shop also has visors that don’t have any etching.

It’s not as complex as the robotic Mindstorms arm we saw a few months ago, but this LEGO arm exoskeleton is just as cool. It was made by Flickr user Milan Sekiz, who says he found it “quite easy” to make.

Yeah, there’s a computer in here somewhere. This is Japanese designer Hiroto Ikeuchi’s award-winning casemod, which is basically a toy diorama that erupted over a PC. According to Wired, Hiroto calls the diorama his “secret base.”
