This guy really treats his pets right. He recreated Jurassic Park just for his turtle. Check out the main entrance, the visitor center and a damaged fence, all built around a Leopard tortoise named Louie. This fun turtle habitat was lovingly made by his owner, Oliver Turpin.

You won’t see me swimming in the lake or the ocean. I’m not fond of putting my face where animals poop and might bite me. You certainly wouldn’t get me to go on a night dive near the Solomon Islands where you have to use bright lights to ward off crocodiles that might want to snack on your soft innards.

This is Beachbot, the world’s first autonomous sand art robot. It was developed by ETH Zurich and the Zurich division of Disney Research. Basically, it’s a Disney Mutant Robot Turtle – further proof that Disney wants to take over the world with cuteness.

When it comes to pets, most people stick with dogs and cats. Some folks out there want something a bit different like snakes or turtles. A family from Brazil had a pet turtle, but lost it many years ago.

Schildi was a pet turtle living in Germany, presumably leading a happy life, gnawing on greens and taking forever to get anywhere as turtles do, but when he was abandoned, he lost a leg somehow. Luckily for Schildi, he was rescued, and vets were able to amputate his mangled limb.

So your pet turtle looks pretty wimpy. He is all slow and his shell is just not badass enough. Well, give him an ego boost and make him look tougher with this crocheted Bowser sweater.

Scientists and researchers continue to emulate animals when designing and building robots, since animals know what they are doing. For instance, if you want a robot that can crawl over sand really fast(Just because) you should check out sea turtles.

Bowww-chica-boww-bowww. Scientists discovered fossils this month of ancient turtles that shows several mating pairs that went out in epic style. I imagine it went down like this, girl turtle shouts “OMG we are sinking!” Guy turtle says, “So what?”

Why can’t they create original games like Super Mario Bros. today that have enduring and adorable characters? I’m starting to think we may never get such games again. But hey, at least we still have the classic games and tons of cool merchandise to go along with them.

Now that Super Mario 3D Land is out, the dust on my Nintendo 3DS has finally been wiped off, and I’m actually playing a decent game on the otherwise unexciting handheld. One thing that hasn’t changed – or in fact has actually gotten more irritating – is those damned Koopa shells bouncing around at your feet and tripping you up.

When driving down the road, you never stop to think that a Koopa shell could slam into you and knock you off course, but it might be time to start worrying about this possibility. Why? Because Turtle Shell robots are now having real life races.

The guys over at Crabfu Motionworks have been responsible for some weird and wonderful robotic creations over the years, and their latest is no exception. The Crabfu R/C Tortoise ‘bot crawls along the ground like a turtle, with a set of 4 sub-micro servos controlling its pokey little legs.
