Okay, it really wouldn’t help me score less than a 35 handicap, but this Batman golf cart would definitely cheer me up the next time I four-putt, or can’t hit past the ladies’ tee box. This his undeniably great Tumbler-inspired golf cart was recently spotted on the Warner Bros.

A lot of gamers – myself included – prefer to use the third-person point of view when driving vehicles in video games. I just find it easier to steer if I can see how far my vehicle is from a turn; in first-person I always end up steering too late.

Now I’m pretty sure that the whole Segway fad is over, but it looks like others have different ideas in mind. While this unusual horse-like vehicle looks interesting on paper, I’ve got trouble looking at it and thinking about transportation.

I was at the LA Auto Show once for the press preview and spent many an hour walking around the show hall drooling over the cars on display. I spent lots of time at the Ferrari display because that is as close as I will get to owning one.

Taking its design cues from the snap-together world of LEGO, this clever remote-control car is great for those of you who just have to have things your own way. When stripped bare, this R/C vehicle just looks like a flat LEGO base.

I don’t know about you guys, but I really loved the Light Cycles in Tron. It was the best design of a new sort of motorcycle that we still haven’t seen on our roads. Sure, there are some really neat motorcycles in fiction, like the ones in Akira, but this design actually might be made.

BigTrak was this cool six-wheeled toy that had built-in memory which allowed you to program a few different moves. Now, the BigTrak will be coming back later this year as the new and improved BigTrak Jr.

How’s this for truth in advertising… This crazy thing could actually be the biggest fly you’ll see this year. Turns out this mammoth-sized bug was created by the guys over at Plunge Productions for a recent show on UK channel T4 called Red Bull Rivals.

Some guy decided that he had enough of this world and proceeded to live in a garbage truck. But this isn’t just any old garbage truck, this thing is actually somebody’s house! The conversion process was quite impressive and the inside doesn’t look anything like a garbage truck anymore.

What’s red, shiny, goes fast, and looks like a vehicular accident? The Pontiac Aztek, that’s what. I’d rather have the Snaefell, François Knorreck’s lovingly handcrafted car-motorcycle hybrid. It’s easier to think of it as a motorcycle with a car-like sidecar, because I don’t think that you can drive – or steer – with the car half.

Lately, we’ve been running into lots of unusual personal transportation vehicles. The Cool Rider is just the latest attempt to dethrone the venerable Segway from the top of the single-person transporter heap. The Cool Rider isn’t quite as schmancy as a Segway, but it still looks like a fun way to get around.

Takara Tomy’s latest remote-control car is definitely unique. Not only does the Aero Spider Laser drive on walls or ceilings, it goes where you tell it to using a light gun. The gun-shaped controller projects a bright red light beam (not sure it’s really a laser beam) where you want the car to go, and the car follows along.

The YikeBike is a new electric transport vehicle coming from New Zealand. The compact personal transporter features an innovative design that can speed you along through city streets and country roads without ever requiring you to stand up.

If you think that the Segway is too expensive, you’ll probably be disgusted with the Air Board, a $14,000 (USD) personal hovercraft. Then again, it’s a personal hovercraft! The product page clarifies for us peasants that “hovercrafts are not just very unique and unusual gifts, they are actually available.”

Man, these are smartphones indeed. The wise – and probably bored – folks at the University of Berlin made a one-of-a-kind iPhone app which they called iDriver, which allows them to control a Honda Civic via Wi-Fi.
